Check out these new Jackson Galaxy™ cat toys – and a giveaway!

Two cats play with cat toys

Disclosure: We received free product from Petmate® in exchange for writing this blog review.

We have a lot to catch you up on! A few weeks ago, I told you how my husband and I were in the process of buying our first home. Well, we moved in last week and all I can say is I hope we never have to move again. Ever. Not only was the entire process of purging and packing and moving physically painful and emotionally exhausting, we greatly underestimated how difficult it would be to get the cats to the new place. The boys were (understandably) completely terrified and totally traumatized once we got them into the new house. It has taken them several days to adjust to their new surroundings, but I think they are starting to see that they have a LOT more room to roam around here–and so many more things to watch out our window! We’re definitely not in the city anymore. We saw a deer in our backyard they other day, and the bushes by our front door are home to a family of bunnies!

One thing that has helped immensely with the move was this incredibly awesome package of Jackson Galaxy™ toys our friends from Petmate® sent us! In case you have been living under a rock, Jackson Galaxy is the star of Animal Planet’s “My Cat from Hell,” and he has created his own line of essential cat gear and toys. The Jackson Galaxy™ Collection comprises of interactive and solo play products that focus on six natural cat behaviors: Hunt, Catch, Kill, Eat, Groom, and Sleep.

Cat paws at kibble in feeder toy.

First up is the Go Fish! slow feeder and puzzle toy. Do you have a cat who needs to slow down while eating? Uhh, we have several of those! This feeder is perfect for cats who tend to gulp down their dinners and need to learn how to eat slower. Just sprinkle some kibble or treats between the tails of the fish and watch your kitty paw his way to a full belly a lot slower than usual. Hugo really loves this feeder. Let your cat play with his food–it’s fun!

Cat plays with toy ball

The Puma Paw toys are Jack’s favorite! The brightly colored, catnip-infused nylon yarn balls bounce in unpredictable directions, bringing out the true hunter in him. Jack seriously loves these balls so much. It’s definitely a new favorite toy in our home.

Cat sitting in cat bed

The Comfy Clamshell Bed is Ben’s favorite. This bed is seriously so cool. It comes with a drawstring closure that cinches the sleeper into a bed like this, or you could relax the rope so the bed lays flat. There is even a pocket on the side where you can tuck the drawstring into, so it’s out of sight. The inside is super soft and cozy, and it is the perfect size for Ben! Is he smiling in this picture? I swear he is!

  1. Congrats on the new house! Happy to see the Trio adjusting to their new domain! (As if you & your husband will TRULY own the house. Not with the Trio around! ?)

  2. Congrats on your new home! Our boys love looking at the deer in our backyard, for sure. No bunnies, but lots of squirrels.

  5. Hi! Glad to hear your boys are doing ok! My two are doing good too! I’m sure they are ready for us to stop bringing up big boxes of furniture and random strangers into the house. In regards to the post, I think the slow eater toy would be something good for my kitten. She loves food and tends to gubble down food. I should look into an interactive toy for my old man to help with his grooming. I’ve never met a creature who hates being brushed like he does…but then he’s lazy when it comes to grooming…can’t wait to read more updates on how the kitties do with their new house :D!

  6. Congrats on the new house! In the past year I too moved into my first (and hopefully only!) house, too. I’ve been hard at work “catifying” my house, as Jackson Galaxy would put it, in the time since, and the cats all love it!

  10. Congratulations on the new home. I hate moving but I’m trying to decide to move out of too big house that I inherited or move to easy to take care of apartment. But they limit cat numbers, so maybe not. My Moo would love the feeder. She inhales cat treats so slowing down and playing would be a great thing. Moo has a crush on Ben.
