It’s been awhile!

Hi friends! Wow, I was just looking back and realized the last time we posted was in February! What a whirlwind the last few months have been. I’m really excited to share the news with all of you that my husband and I have found a house that we absolutely LOVE and we’ll be moving in June! Yup, we’re moving to the ‘burbs! No more Boston apartment, no more parallel parking on the street every day, no more listening to the neighbors stomp around upstairs, and no more trains going by every 3 minutes!

We’re thrilled with everything about this house–it’s the perfect size for us and the cats, and checks almost everything off our wish list. Our appraisal is scheduled for this week, and if everything goes well we should close in mid-June. We are so excited to give the boys more space to roam around in and have something to finally call our own. I’ll keep you all posted and share pictures as soon as I can. I also have a few DIY projects already lined up for the house and I can’t wait to share some before and after pictures and tutorials with you. This will be a busy summer for us!

This past weekend, I flew to Myrtle Beach for my 2nd BlogPaws conference. BlogPaws is an incredible online community for pet bloggers. Hundreds of bloggers from all over the country get together once a year (at a pet-friendly hotel, of course!) to talk strategy, share blogging tips, and network. Many people bring their pets, which is amazing to see, and big name pet brands gather at the conference to share their newest products with bloggers and influencers. I met so many friendly faces this year and really just had a blast. I might even be working with a few new brands in the upcoming year, so stay tuned for that!

Oh yeah, and did I mention that I met NALA and LUNA, only two of the most beautiful cats on the internet? I even got to play with them and give them snuggles. I’m not joking. Nala even begrudgingly let me put her in her carrier when it was time to leave (she gave me a few unimpressed growls, but I got her in there!).

Anyway, while at the BlogPaws conference, I realized we’d been working so hard on finding a house and getting all our affairs in order that I’d been neglecting my blog. The last few weekends, I’ve been working on systematically going through different areas of our apartment and making piles of things we can donate to others or just get rid of. The rest gets organized and packed away in preparation for the big move in a few short weeks! Does anyone have any ideas about keeping the cats calm as we continue this process and any tips for moving them over on the big day? Help! Our apartment is the only home the boys have ever known and none of them enjoy car rides. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Talk to you soon!

  1. I haven’t had to move for quite a long time. I don’t know whether you follow Cole and Marmalade on YouTube but they have a series of videos on the subject of moving with cats. The preparation, the drive and settling in to your new home. They even spoke with Jackson Galaxy for all the best tricks and saves to help you and your cats sanity. I enjoyed them and even learned a lot. Good luck and congratulations. Sincerely, Mary and tuxie fan ( tuxedo cat herself) Moo
