Wow. I can’t believe another year has passed. It feels like just yesterday I was writing about all the fantastic things we did in 2015 and setting my blogging goals for 2016. I did blog more this year, but not as much as I wanted to. I hope to keep working on that goal for 2017. We have some exciting times ahead of us for the next year, too. After eight years (EIGHT YEARS??) in our Boston apartment, we’re finally looking for a place of our own to buy. Yep, we’ll be moving to the suburbs next year. We really have outgrown this apartment, so we’re looking forward to being able to spread out (and maybe get some more kitties!).
Looking back at 2016, it’s kind of crazy to think of all the wonderful things we took part in. We hit 50,000 followers on Instagram and we were featured not once, but TWICE in the 2016 Animals of Instagram calendar! Instagram even sent us this cool gift as a thank you present.
We helped the Hallmark Channel promote what is indisputably the best part of Super Bowl Sunday–the Kitten Bowl! (And the tuxies won this year!) Can’t wait to see what they have in store for this year’s event.
This year, I traveled to Phoenix, Arizona to attend my very first BlogPaws conference, where I met a ton of fellow pet bloggers and their furry friends. I also attended the second annual CatCon conference in Los Angeles and met up with the owners of all my favorite cat accounts and even got to snuggle some of them, too!
The travels didn’t end there, either! In October, I road-tripped it to NYC with my good friend @ridley_the_xfire_tuxedo for the second annual Paw It Forward charity event to help raise money for a local non-profit organization, JerseyCats! That night, we raised nearly $5000 to help cats in need. Amazing!
We were also featured in a book this year! Check out Cats on Instagram and look for us!
In 2016, Ben turned FIVE, Jack turned THREE, and Hugo turned TWO. We finally joined Snapchat and even took over The Dodo’s Snapchat account for a day. That was so much fun. Follow us on Snapchat here:
This year, were also lucky to be featured several times in the media by our friends at The Purrington Post, The Oregonian, ZestyList, and MassLive.com! We even had three international news outlets write articles about us–Japan, Russia, and Italy!
Last, but not least, we took part in several awesome promotional campaigns this year! We helped our friends at Purina ONE launch a new product this summer. Check out our promotional videos for that here, here, and here! And we even helped our friends at Auto-Pets give away 30 free Litter-Robots and over $35,000 in prizes for their 25 Days of Christmas Giveaway. Whoa, baby. That’s a lot of free stuff. 🙂
All in all, I would have to say this was our best year yet! We’ve met so many new friends, made so many new connections, and we’re still having a blast doing what we do. It’s kind of crazy to think that starting a simple blog about my cats five years ago has changed my life in so many fulfilling ways. I just want to thank all of you who read our posts, follow us on our social media channels, and encourage us to keep writing, photographing, and posting. It means the absolute world to me!
Here are our most liked photos on Instagram from this year! (To find your #bestnine2016 photos, go here!) Thanks for a great year, guys! We’ll see you in 2017.
