Happy Caturday! If you’ve followed our blog for a while, you know how much I love writing and posting about the cats. Some people find the idea of a pet owner blogging about her pets a little odd, but it’s practically second nature to me. We’re super active on Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr, and Twitter and we love meeting other cat friends through social media! That’s why we decided to join BlogPaws awhile back. What is BlogPaws, you ask? It’s a huge community of pet bloggers! Founded in 2009, BlogPaws works to connect pet bloggers and influencers via a digital platform and spread the word about fantastic pet-related organizations and causes all over the world. It’s a great community and I’m so proud to be a part of it.
So, you can imagine my delight when I learned that BlogPaws has announced a collaboration with the Cat Writers’ Association. CWA is an international journalism organization of cat advocates who really care about making a difference in the world. They support cat writers, bloggers, and artists all over the globe and aim to improve the quality of cat information disseminated to the public. What’s really exciting is that CWA will be joining next year’s BlogPaws Conference in Arizona! They will be organizing a bunch of events, including a book signing, special workshops and seminars, and even one-on-one editor and agent appointments! Oh, and did I mention they will be presenting more than $10,000 in cash and prizes at their CWA Awards Banquet? It’s like a cat blogger’s dream! I’m really excited about this collaboration! The 2016 BlogPaws Conference takes place June 23-25, at the Sheraton Wildhorse Pass Resort & Spa, near Phoenix! You can get your tickets here. I hope to see you there!
Finally, I just wanted to let you guys know about a great campaign BlogPaws recently organized for cats in need. It was hard to miss National Cat Day last week, right? On Thursday, October 29th, the internet was flooded with adorable cat pictures, celebrating the best day ever! Members of the BlogPaws community were urged to sign up and spread the word about #NationalCatDay. BlogPaws pledged to donate $1 for each tweet submitted for the campaign to the Winn Feline Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the health and welfare of all cats. Together, we submitted 563 links, which means $563 will be donated to the Winn Feline Foundation. Go team! What a great job!
